Taunggyi Parade

We went to Taunggyi to see its annual hot air balloon festival that happened to be beautiful yet quite a dangerous spectacle, not only by the Western standards. Imagine the endless crowds of thousands of people who want to be as close as possible to the fireworks spitting balloons. It's better to enjoy that from a distance. I very much preferred the colourful people who attended the street parade that all of a sudden appeared in front of our hotel.
